OMG, just do what I do:  Use DITCHMAIL, not voicemail to screen your calls.  Answer known callers you see on your display and use ditchmail to screen out unknown numbers on your display.  Google ditchmail, I'm sure you'll find lots of sites to get ideas from.  I use:"The person you are trying to reach does not accept unknown callers.  Goodbye"My ditchmail then hangs up on the caller so they cannot leave a message.  Great for creditors!!!!!I've stopped so many telemarketers from calling using my beloved ditchmail.  You can too!;)

I get calls from these a***oles too.  No answer...just silence and then hang up.   What's amazing is that they can get away with this annoying b***s***.  You can call Ma Bell and explain what's going on but Bell gives a s***.  The "do not call" lists give a s***.  If you see this number come up on your "call display" and you happen to have an air horn next to your phone, one that gives about a 120 decibel blast.  Or...an emergency whistle is also a good "answering system" for calls like this.   'Nuff said.

They called my land-line at 09:59 Pacific.

I picked-up the telephone, and said nothing.
After a few seconds of silence, I hear a "hello".

I said "hello, thank you for calling our company. We provide pay-by-the-minute language translation service.  To continue, I will require your VISA or MasterCard number".

After a few seconds, the telemarketer hung-up(!) on me.

Last time a newspaper called it was the Vancouver Sun.  I let the kid read off his little script up to the part where he thinks he's signing me up then I said, now you do have a version in braille, right?  I have no idea whether they do or not, but the kid hung up so fast I thought my eardrum might rupture.  That was 5 years ago, and they have not called me since then.

People are saying that its the Globe and Mail,  if that the case,  (416) 646-8791 is ALSO the globe and mail so complain about that one too.
